I'm having trouble with Live Connect, can you help me?

There are a few simple requirements needed in order to use Live Connect. Here is a list of what you need:

  1. A modern browser: IE7+, Firefox 2+ or Safari 2+
  2. A Spot client that is online and anuthenticated.
  3. Adobe Flash Player 9.0 or newer. You can get it here
  4. Optional: To view RTSP feeds we recomend the latest version of Quicktime Player from Apple.com. It should be configured to open links of the 'rtsp://' kind. You can get it here

If your Spot client is connected then it should appear instantly with an online status on the client menu at the bottom left of the screen. You can now click on the client, and interact with it the same way as an instant messaging program.

If your Spot client has active surveillance channels then you will be able to monitor them by clicking on the play button beside the corresponsing channel on the 'Channels' tab. If this doesn't work then the port numbers on the computer running Spot probably aren't configured properly. Please read this for a solution.

You can send also commands to the client, which are listed under the 'Commands' tab. If you are a software developer then you can write plugins to create your own commands.

If you followed the above steps and are still having troubles then please don't hesitate to submit a support request.
